Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Tokyo's iconic Matsuya Ginza department store, a special art exhibition was held this November in the heart of Ginza, with original, unique curated art pieces from famous Japanese artists such as Susumu Kamijo (Perrotin), Kazuhito Kawai (Kotaro Nukaga) and Ritsue Mishima (Shugo Arts).
To provide a permanent exhibition available to a global audience on any device, we created a web-based virtual gallery. As always at Gimbal Cube, we could not be satisfied with just delivering the bare minimum: Using cutting-edge, Gaussian Splatting techniques we created unique high-fidelity 3D renders of the artwork, highlighting texture, details and volume on each piece.
And as a true one-stop shop and to further deliver a full 360 experience, we also recorded two artist interviews in their atelier, and captured a photoshoot of the real Gallery.
